CQC Registered Provider

Our Standards

Here's exactly what we do — in plain English — to make sure every care worker who enters your home is safe, skilled, and properly supervised.

CQC Registered Provider

Remedy Support is registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and inspected against the five quality domains: Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive, and Well-Led.

4-Stage Vetting Pipeline

No care worker starts with us until all four stages are passed — no exceptions.

Stage 1 of 4

Identity & Right to Work

Every applicant provides in-person biometric identity documents and proof of address. We confirm Right to Work status in line with current Home Office guidance, checking document authenticity and any visa expiry dates, before anyone is placed.

Stage 2 of 4

Enhanced DBS Check

We apply for an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check covering both the children's and adults' barred lists. A criminal record is rarely an automatic bar — each disclosure is reviewed fairly and individually, weighing its relevance, recency and any evidence of rehabilitation against the safety of those in our care.

Stage 3 of 4

Gap-Free Reference Checking

We obtain a minimum of two professional references covering the last three years, and confirm qualifications and professional registrations directly with the relevant body. Any gap in employment history is explained and verified in writing before placement.

Stage 4 of 4

Clinical or Skills Interview

All applicants attend a structured competency interview. Care staff demonstrate practical skills, and healthcare professionals (RGNs, HCAs) complete an additional clinical assessment — followed by ongoing compliance monitoring and revalidation throughout their time with us.

Thorough Vetting, Fairly Applied

Protecting the people we support and treating candidates fairly are not in tension — we do both, every time.

No automatic bars

Many care roles are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, so both spent and unspent convictions must be declared. Having a record is rarely an automatic bar to employment — each case is considered on the nature and seriousness of the offence, its relevance to the role, time elapsed, and evidence of rehabilitation, always alongside the safety of those we support.

Equal Opportunities Employer

We recruit, train, develop and promote people solely on skills and qualifications, experience and competence, and merit and ability to do the job — creating an inclusive working environment where everyone is treated with dignity and respect.

15-Module Training Programme

All care staff complete mandatory training in the following areas before being placed with clients. Training is refreshed annually.

01Moving and Handling
02Medication Administration
03Safeguarding Adults
04Dementia Awareness
05Mental Capacity Act (MCA)

Ongoing Supervision & Quality Checks

Spot-check visits

Unannounced supervisory visits to care workers during live care calls to observe practice and gather client feedback.

NMC PIN monitoring

Registered nurse PIN numbers are checked against the NMC register on appointment and on a rolling basis to confirm active registration.

Annual appraisals

Every care worker receives a formal annual appraisal covering competence, conduct, and training needs.

Client satisfaction reviews

We contact service users and their families regularly to ask about their care experience and act on any concerns immediately.
