Equality Act 2010

Equality, Diversity & Inclusion

Remedy Support is committed to fair, dignified, and inclusive care for everyone — regardless of who they are or where they come from.

Our Commitment

Remedy Support and Recruitment Group Ltd is committed to providing equal opportunities for all service users and employees, and to eliminating unlawful discrimination under the Equality Act 2010 s.29.

We recognise that diversity in our workforce enables us to provide culturally sensitive, person-centred care. We actively encourage applications from individuals of all backgrounds and identities.

Our EDI principles are embedded in our recruitment process, staff training programme, care planning approach, and complaints handling procedures.

Nine Protected Characteristics

We do not discriminate — directly or indirectly — on the basis of any of the nine characteristics protected under the Equality Act 2010:

Age

We provide care across the full lifespan and do not discriminate based on age in our service delivery or employment practices.

Disability

We make reasonable adjustments for service users and employees with disabilities, including accessible communications and adapted care plans.

Gender Reassignment

We treat all individuals with respect regardless of gender reassignment and accommodate preferences for care worker gender where operationally possible.

Marriage & Civil Partnership

No person is treated less favourably in employment on the basis of marriage or civil partnership status.

Pregnancy & Maternity

We support pregnant employees and new parents. Care plans are adapted for clients who are pregnant or in the postnatal period.

Race

We celebrate cultural diversity among our workforce and service users. Culturally sensitive care — including dietary, religious, and communication preferences — is embedded in every care plan.

Religion or Belief

Spiritual and religious needs are respected in care delivery. Our workers are trained to support religious practices and dietary requirements.

Sex

All employees and service users are treated fairly regardless of sex. Gender preference requests for care workers are accommodated where possible.

Sexual Orientation

We provide a welcoming, non-judgemental environment for all service users and employees regardless of sexual orientation.

Culturally Sensitive Care

We understand that care must respect cultural, religious, and personal values. When we create your care plan, we ask about:

  • Dietary requirements, including Halal, Kosher, vegetarian, and allergy-specific diets
  • Prayer times, religious observances, and spiritual practices
  • Language preferences and the need for an interpreter
  • Preferences for the gender or cultural background of your care worker

Equal Opportunities Employer

Remedy Support is an equal opportunities employer. Recruitment decisions are based on skills, qualifications, and experience alone. We welcome applications from all communities, and our recruitment process is designed to eliminate bias at every stage.

If you require a reasonable adjustment during the recruitment process — such as an accessible application format or interview accommodation — please let us know at info@remedysupport.co.uk.
